Your Eyes, Hands, Mouth, and Brain Could be the Cause and Cure of Your Weight Problem
Every day we are tempted to take an opportunity to take a short cut to complete tasks because we condition ourselves to do so. We want the easy life. We want to get something or achieve something effortlessly. For example: most of us are indifferent about our eating habits. This leads us to big problems personally and also for others. In the case of food, we eat too much and become overweight. In terms of influencing others, our bodies become lethargic and our brain functions lose their sharpness. We become unpleasant and treat others harshly, curtly, bully them, or simply resent them. Our physical body is out of tune and begins to act abnormally.
As humans, we have that temptation to take short cuts. It’s almost like it’s built into us. Unless, of course, we have disciplined ourselves to the point where we are aware of almost everything we do, in which case we stay on target and in control and everything turns out satisfactorily. Many of us do not have this control. But why? Because we are lazy.
Unless you are poor, and food is scary, and you have to eat like a glut out of necessity to stay alive, there is no real need to feed yourself with unnecessary amounts of food, periodically, from morning to night to throw Many of us do because we have made a bad habit of eating without thinking and not realizing the impact and harm it would have with our bodies.
When images of food surround us during or daily activities such as when we drive, watch television, listen to radio broadcasts etc., our eyes, ears and brain pick up pictures of food that tempt us to satisfy this imaginary need for food . It is no surprise then that we have the urge to eat very often. Not that we are hungry, but because we succumb to temptation and we oblige our stomach by filling it with food, we really do not need. These food images tempt us and we cannot resist, without having conscious control, so we eat ourselves into a huge weight problem over a long period, then we dress and spend unnecessary money to join a gym and start an exercise program.
This exercise program would fail because we continue to eat as we did before. And, since the exercise takes some effort, it becomes a difficult task to take off the added kilos and our interest in losing weight gradually diminishes and we give up. Again, we take the short cut and blame the exercise program or something else for not achieving our intended goal.
So, now that you know that the culprits that create the imaginary hunger are temptation, lack of self-discipline and control, and recognize that we must be aware of all this, you can guard against it and stay slim and trim throughout the year. .and beyond. The answer lies within you.
First you have to identify with the temptation and how it manifests itself in your being and work from there. We just covered this. Once you get to know this, you would consciously move away from succumbing to the temptation. You would have already won half the battle over food if you did this.
Again, here are the mechanics of how it happens:
When looking at images of food, your eyes send messages to your brain that activates the stomach lining and gastric juices secrete that evoke the need for food. Your brain also sends a signal to your arm to put the food in your mouth. This is done automatically. And you repeat it day after day.
Over a period of weeks or months, your clothes become tighter, you behave sluggishly and get into a bad mood. The weight starts to build slowly. The bad thing is that every day your body adapts more and more to the changes and you can handle the changes which would eventually take its toll on your body over a longer period of time.
Your stomach and buttocks and many other parts of your body start bulging and you now have a weight problem. And then you notice it and decide to take action.
So, here is your starting plan to curb this bad habit:
1. Write on a piece of paper your mission to remove the obsession to eat unnecessarily. Two lines for most. Be aware of the food images and messages you receive from the media and resist the urges and temptation to eat unhealthy foods.
2. Write a script of about two paragraphs telling yourself to increase your awareness of subliminal food messages, eat healthy food meals and the approved amount and be disciplined about this food plan. Exercise daily to burn excess fat and stay trim and fit. Also state that if you fail you will punish yourself and state what that would be. Of course, be true to yourself in this venture.
If you follow this path, you should see dramatic results within a few weeks.
If youare having trouble or are less inclined to set up a diet plan like this for yourself to manage your weight problem, I suggest you let the professionals help you with your nutrition plan. It would be worth every penny.
