KISS Diet: The Only Diet You’ll Ever Need

And here is the problem. You’re like millions of people who enjoy the holidays and what with high-calorie foods, cookies, cakes and candy bars you put on a few pounds. You’ve probably decided that by the second January you’re going to lose weight. Well the second of January has come and gone. You tried dieting but after a few days you stopped and regained the two or three pounds you lost.

You’ve tried every weight loss plan out there with no lasting results. You’ve seen the ads on TV and on the internet. You read magazine articles about weight loss and watch celebrities strut their stuff. Weight loss plans run the gamut from fasting, cleansing, dieting to Paleo, high carb and low carb. What do people do? Why can’t I lose weight? If I can find food I can live and enjoy eating food.

There is such food! I call it the KISS Diet or the Keep It Simple Silly Diet. You will find that almost every food out there will die without it. Why? Because in order to lose weight and keep it off you need a meal plan that is easy to follow, easy to prepare, use simple everyday foods, one that won’t break your budget and one that you enjoy the food is yours.

Most of the food out there calls for expensive and exotic ingredients and requires long preparation times. Using different spices and new flavors may be fine when you’re not adventurous but it’s not something to add to your diet. The KISS Diet uses familiar everyday foods, comfort foods if you like and some simple principles.

Now I’m not a doctor or a nutritionist, I’m just a guy who and his wife tried almost everything under the sun to lose weight and failed! Finally a few years ago I looked at all the top weight loss programs and took the common elements they shared and developed my own system that has worked for my family. This is not a problem you can buy. There are no books, DVDs or meal plans to sell you. When I said this is a Simple Music Storage Plan I was just sharing. So without further ado here are the main points.

1. Start each day with a lean protein breakfast. It may be fruitful. I like mine poached. But a slice of whole wheat toast with peanut butter, non-fat yogurt and fruit or a smoothie.

2. Lunch is a salad or vegetable soup.

3. Eat lean protein, meat or vegetarian.

4. Snacks: Fruit, low-fat cheese, handful of nuts, fat-free yogurt, olives, Hummus, etc.

5. Drink plenty of water.

6. Avoid sugar in all its forms.

7. Do not eat white foods.

8. Eliminate processed foods from your diet.

9. Move! Walk, walk, walk! Include five or ten minutes of some form of exercise each day.

10. Get plenty of sleep!

Now I admit there is nothing new in this plan. In fact, you probably already knew all of this before reading this article. But sometimes with all the hype about weight loss and new diets we forget the truth about nutrition. This truth is “Everything in simplicity.” You probably remember your Mom saying that, right?

My purpose in trying to get your attention with my food is to help you focus and remind you that you don’t have to spend buckets of money and drive all over town to find other food, to or spend hours in the kitchen preparing unfamiliar meals. The solution is right in front of you in your refrigerator and pantry. So feel free to use the simple methods above and rest and you’ll lose weight in no time and keep it off for good!
