How To Lose 20 Pounds By Changing Simple Daily Habits
good. I lost 20 pounds. Absolutely. Of course, trying to lose 20 pounds in 30 days may be possible, but that would be dangerous. A better goal is to adopt a daily habit when you get there, then focus on keeping that habit for 30 days. Then, your new habit will bring you to the goal. After 30 days, your new habit will stick and it will be easy to continue – or even easier!
That wisdom will help you achieve a goal: “Achieve the big things by doing the little things.”
Now, this seems unfair. I started the diet about 2 months ago and have lost 10 pounds. But my goal has been 20 since the beginning, and now I’m not. What I did to get here won’t pay off the rest of the way.
I started by taking the first 2 weeks of The South Beach Diet. If you don’t know that, it means eliminating as many carbohydrates from your diet as possible. No bread, no pasta, no rice, no potatoes. Almost all snacks have flour in them — so no more. But you can eat fruits, lean meats and as many vegetables as you want.
I’m taking it easy, but that’s the way it is. You should get the book or search the net for more information if you are interested. I know the diet is good because I know people who have used it in the past and it worked for them.
So I went on that extreme diet and lost 10 pounds in a few weeks. But I get to a point where I stop. After that I didn’t really have a problem with my diet, and I’ve been on it ever since. I haven’t been on it — yet.
So now I have to take a 30 day regimen and get there. And this: “For 30 days, I don’t eat rice, bread or pasta. I don’t eat after 8pm before I go to bed. I drink at least one glass of water a day. .” If I can do this, I know I can. This basic set of daily habits should get me where I want to go.
