As a personal trainer, my clients undoubtedly want to know the best crash diet plans. Often, they have an event like a class reunion or a wedding to attend, and they want to shed some pounds. They know that most of them don’t like crash dieters, but they insist, and I give them these 3 tips for choosing a crash dieter.

1) Avoid Food Pills

The best crash diet plans work without using food stamps. Diet pills have many side effects that can be dangerous. Even diet pills that contain natural chemicals like Ephedra should be avoided. Side effects from diet pills include excessive sweating, bruising, irritability, and dry mouth. Natural appetite suppressants like Hoodia can be effective when taken in moderation.

2) Diet Must Drink plenty of water daily

Aim for 64 ounces a day, or 8 glasses full. Water should be consumed at regular intervals throughout the day, with the last one consumed 3 hours before bedtime. Water helps to “prime” the kidneys to maintain elimination of fluids, and helps to prevent water retention.

Too much water keeps the urine from being too concentrated, which is a problem with crash dieters. Always consult your doctor before starting any diet.

3) Have a Food Security Plan

After a dieter reaches a goal weight, best dieters offer a maintenance plan. I call it a maintenance plan, an “exit” strategy. Without an effective maintenance plan, people who have lost weight on a crash diet stand a good chance of regaining the weight they lost, AND AGAIN!

If the amount of carbohydrates in the diet is too low, carbohydrates should be added to the diet. Continued growth should be applied to the smallest food sources.

A regular exercise program, which takes into account a person’s fitness level, is necessary for a maintenance program.
