Common herbs used in Ayurvedic medicine

Amalaki (Amla or Indian Gooseberry or Emblica officinalis) – The fruit is reputed to have the highest content of vitamin C of any naturally occurring substance in nature. Shallaki (Boswellia Serrata, Salai Guggul) – Modern Research indicates that the Boswellia herb can help treat joint mobility, pain, and can be a useful remedy for a variety of inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. A recent clinical trial suggests positive effects of Boswellia serrata extract in knee osteoarthritis.
