Beware! The 15 Signs and Symptoms of Diabetes – Type 1, Type 2 And Gestational Diabetes

Briefly, I will explain the main reason for the onset of various types of diabetes that we see in our time in this modern world.

-Type 1 diabetes occurs when our pancreas does not work properly to produce the hormone-insulin which controls the concentration of sugar in our blood by breaking this sugar down. so that our cells can capture it for energy production. Type 1 diabetes is the most common form of childhood diabetes, affecting 90 percent of children under the age of 16. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease.

-Type 2 diabetes occurs when the pancreas is still able to produce insulin, but not enough (called insulin deficiency), or when the insulin that is produced does not work properly ( called insulin resistance). This type of diabetes is called adult-onset diabetes or non-insulin-dependent diabetes. Insulin deficiency is a condition in which insulin-producing cells do not function properly. In fact, insulin resistance occurs when the pancreas produces too much insulin (it is working normally and produces too much insulin) but the cells of the body become resistant to its actions which results in excess of blood sugar.

-Gestational diabetes, sometimes called gestational diabetes, affects women who have high blood sugar levels during pregnancy. Gestational diabetes usually occurs during pregnancy when some women experience high blood sugar levels for a short period of time. It is very important for pregnant women to be screened for gestational diabetes because it can harm the unborn baby and lead to other serious complications due to high blood sugar.

There is one thing about the above-mentioned types of diabetes. The signs and symptoms of these diabetes include high blood sugar levels (hyperglycaemia), short-term low blood sugar levels (hypoglycaemia), and diabetes-related complications associated with lipid, macrovascular (large blood vessels), or microvascular (small blood vessels) damage, and organ damage – for example kidney (diabetic nephropathy), nerve (diabetic neuropathy) and eye (diabetic retinopathy) damage, and faster healing of wounds, cuts and bruises. Unfortunately, these signs and symptoms of diabetes are not always understood as signs of a serious illness, and it is not easy to determine. Therefore, it is not surprising that one third of people with diabetes do not know that they have diabetes.

The known signs and symptoms of these common diabetes-related diseases today are listed below:-

1) Polydipsia (variable thirst) : Due to the high concentration of blood sugar, it is a condition that pulls water from our tissue cells and manifests itself as polydipsia. One of the functions of our kidneys is to eliminate this excess sugar from our system which forces it to pull water from the tissues. So, it’s a different kind of thirst.

2) Polyuria (A lot of urine): Related to polydipsia or high blood sugar, one of the functions of our kidneys is to reduce this sugar level by releasing it into in the urine. Therefore, the change of abnormal thirst and frequent drinking of water leads to polyuria-fast urination.

3) Polyphagia (Hunger) : Due to lack of energy. Because insulin is needed to break down glucose so that it can enter our cells as food for our energy. Not moving sugar into the cells reduces the strength of the organs and muscles. Therefore, the hunger and the desire to eat become intense.

4) Fatigue (Variable Weight): Because the body loses the ability to store food, this lack of energy causes us to be very tired as our cells do not receive the sugar they need for able to carry the levels of activity of our organs. difficult.

5) Chronic or frequent diseases: Symptoms of a weakened immune system of the body are seen in chronic or persistent diseases.

6) Vision: Too much blood sugar in the body system can cause problems like cataracts and retinal damage. This development causes vision loss, making the disease more likely to lead to blindness.

7) Abdominal pain: Abdominal pain can develop and is also one of the symptoms of diabetes.

8) Breathing becomes fast and deep: Due to the increased acidity of the blood, the level of sugar increases, the body tries to correct the disease which leads to the development of breathing problems.

9) Irritability, irritability or unusual behavior: A sudden change in mood to irritability or depression can be a sign of diabetes.

10) Yeast infection: Diabetic women may get it more often than other women. In cases of infants and children with type 1 diabetes, the symptom may be seen in diaper rash. This situation can get worse.

Other symptoms that often indicate diabetes due to complications include the following:-

11) Wounds such as cuts and bruises are less able to heal and leave a dark gangrene on the skin after healing.

12) Skin inflammation or diabetes can cause skin and other skin problems.

13) Numbness or numbness in the legs or arms due to poor blood flow when the small blood vessels are blocked.

14) Rapid heartbeat, sweating, weakness and fatigue with slow thinking and slurred speech.

15) Nausea and vomiting are seen when blood acidity increases due to ketoacidosis-a problem caused by the breakdown of fats into fatty acids.

As mentioned before, these signs and symptoms are linked to the problems developed by diabetes, so they are only signs of the disease but not the real thing. indicate the progression of the disease. It must be repeated that it is difficult to know on the basis of diabetes symptoms alone. A person can live with the signs and symptoms of diabetes for years before realizing that something is wrong. So, be aware of these signs and symptoms so that you can talk to your health care provider as soon as possible.
