How Eating Properly Can Eliminate Symptoms of Menopause and PMS, Naturally

What is the easiest and most natural way to eliminate the symptoms of PMS and menopause: hot flashes, mood swings, night sweat, and abdominal pain that would fell a line backer?

Answer: Change your diet. Changing your diet will eliminate nutrients that trigger these symptoms (i.e. too much copper) and add nutrients that will bring your body back into biobalance (more zinc.) In this case, biobalance is getting your copper/zinc ratio back into biobalance. (For the scientific, that’s dividing the milligrams of copper in your body by the milligrams of zinc and getting a number between four and 12.)

Anything below or above that reference range adversely affects normal biological functions. This is what’s causing the problem.

Everyone needs to eat more foods high in zinc and cut out foods rich in copper… But there’s more.

Cold Metabolizers

This is my term. I made it up because women who are para-sympathetic dominant have cold hands and feet, even in August. Para-sympathetic dominant is a real scientific term which means your thyroid and adrenal glands are working overtime, flooding your body with too much of their hormones. Here’s how to fix that with food:

1. Eat a high protein food at each meal. Protein should account for at least 40 percent of the total caloric value at each meal.

2. Increase the frequency of your meals while decreasing the total caloric intake at each one. This will decrease blood sugar fluctuations.

3. Eat a moderate amount of unrefined carbohydrates. Carbohydrates should not exceed 40 percent of your total daily calories. Excellent sources of unrefined carbohydrates include whole grain products, legumes and root vegetables.

4. Avoid ALL sugars and refined carbohydrates. Yeah, I know. This is truly difficult. Avoid:

• White and brown sugar

• Honey

• Candy

• Sodas even sugar-free ones

• Cake

• Pastries

• Alcohol (except vodka and tequila if you just drink them straight or with water)

• White bread

5. Avoid high purine protein. That includes:

• Liver (no problem)

• Kidney (NO problem!)

• Heart (ditto)

• Sardines

• Mackerel

• Salmon (boo hoo)

• Shellfish (tuna, clams, crab and lobster) (oh no!)

6. Reduce the intake of milk products. Limit milk intake to no more than once every three days.

7. Reduce intake of fats and oils. These should compromise no more than 20 percent of your daily intake. Verboten foods include:

• Fried foods

• Cream

• Butter

• Salad dressings

• Mayonnaise

8. Reduce fruit juice intake. That’s all fruit juices. Tomato juice is cool because vegetable juices are fine.

9. Avoid calcium and vitamin D supplements

Hot Metabolizers

These people are always hot. They sweat when they eat ice cream. They are sympathetic dominant. This means they have decreased thyroid function.

1. Increase your intake of high purine protein foods. They should comprise 33 percent of your total daily caloric intake.

2. Reduce carbohydrate intake. This includes cereals and whole grains.

3. Avoid all sugars and refined carbohydrates.

Does this really work?

I can tell you I suffered from PMS. The symptoms disappeared after I got back into biobalance. I am now over 60. I never experienced one menopausal symptom since I remained in biobalance as I aged. Hot flashes? Never!

And I am not that special. I am just like you! Fix this with the grocery store solution.
