To experience weight loss and life-changing effects, including an increase in self esteem, you will need to count calories for a while as you must ensure that the calories you are ingesting are less than the calories that you are expending. While some people try diet supplements and have a lot of success with these, the problem is that if the supplements are not accompanied by changes in diet and exercise, the weight loss cannot be sustained because you can’t keep taking supplement forever. Supplements can also be very expensive and some of them even harmful to your health.

Many overweight women have a low image of themselves. Being overweight, they are often embarrassed about their body, which affects their activity level. If this is the case for you, you might want to try something like belly dancing. Belly dancing offers a whole body aerobic workout. What is more, you can do the dancing in private if you prefer, and you can still do it regardless of your size and shape. Many women successfully use belly dancing to lose weight, and together with weight loss they experience an improvement in self esteem as it helps them to be comfortable in their bodies. It is also a good way to meet other women, many of whom will be in the same position and have same challenges.
