Why Your Diet Didn’t Work

If you want to be hit over the head with statistics about how high the obesity rate is in our country, or to say how much dirty money you spend on not living in your life, then change the story. If you need a reminder of how important it is to maintain a healthy lifestyle look around you. There is information that is flooded with information.

We know the consequences of bad behavior. We know that poor health can lead to illness, injury and emotional turmoil.

We know that many years of our lives are bad.

If we know all this…Why don’t we do something about it? Why not just lose weight? Why don’t we start eating healthy? Why not just start exercising?

Another question: Why do we go wrong with our food and our New Year’s resolutions?

The answer to that burn is this question – Because we start with the idea that it’s temporary.

How many times do you start a meal and say to yourself, “For the rest of my life I will eat this way.” How many times have you started an exercise program and said to yourself, “For the rest of my life I will go to the gym 5 days a week.”

Foods don’t work. Changing lifestyles.

What if the company you work for changes its mission statement a month after being hired. Or just saw them 2 weeks ago? Or stop creating goals altogether? Bad, right? They close the doors like many companies do now.

When I bought my first business a great mentor told me to write down the following 5 success stories and stick to them. It makes or breaks a business.

1. Create a Mission/Vision statement

2. Set a goal that will get you to your vision statement

3. Develop organizational processes and systems

4. Seek Wisdom

5. Surround yourself with other successful people

These success principles apply to your Health and Fitness!

1. Create your long term vision for yourself. (What to do

are you in shape how are you?)

2. Set small goals to reach your ultimate vision. Set daily, weekly and monthly goals. For example: every day – eat only 2,000 calories. Weekly – work 5 days/wk. Monthly – lose 2 pounds/mo.

3. Administrative Procedures. This is the system that will take you to your true vision. These methods will become the new medical method. For example you go for a walk in your spare time. You go straight to the gym from work.

4. Seek Wisdom. This is a personal trainer, nutritionist, book, and magazine. What or why you can learn nutrition, fitness and health

5. Surround yourself with success-minded people. Go to the right environment. Join a personal training center, join the gym, take a new class. It’s all about bringing you together with like-minded people on a healthy lifestyle.
