Skin Brushing: 8 Health Benefits
When I first learned about the specific things we can do to have healthy skin, I realized the small benefits of brushing. So I bought a brush and would do the occasional skin brushing in the shower. I’m not overly committed to doing it which translates to me not really believing the benefits are worth my time and effort.
That is no longer true. I now allow time for dry skin brushing every day before I shower. The reason it is now part of my personal health program is because I have learned its benefits and I believe it to be true.

When the blood is full of toxic substances, it is the skin that will show this first. The skin is the last to receive the necessary nutrients, yet the first to show signs of imbalance or deficiency!
All of that was enough information to make me cross the line of knowledge about it (believing it’s a good fact) and gut knowledge (actually choosing to incorporate skin brushing into my daily routine to reap the health benefits myself).
Here are the benefits of skin brushing that I have learned:
1. Helps the body get rid of cellulite.
2. Helps the skin tighten.
3. Very effective when you are losing weight (or have lost weight and are now dealing with sagging skin).
4. Removes dead cells, thereby improving skin texture and cell renewal.
5. Stimulate blood flow to the skin, which in turn helps the body get rid of waste products.
6. Help detox the body better when alfalfa supplements are taken together with brushing the skin.
7. Rejuvenates the nervous system by stimulating nerve endings.
8. Eliminate clogged pores so that the skin can absorb nutrients better.
Want to know how to get started? Buy a stiff, natural body brush. If it seems too tight on dry skin, start by getting it wet and soapy in the shower or bath. Once the skin is stronger, switch to dry brushing. Brushing dry skin will give your skin the extra boost it needs. Use the designated hand, arm, chest, stomach massage. Then proceed to brush the legs, feet, buttocks, remembering to always brush towards the heart in long strokes. For specific target areas (such as upper thighs, stomach, buttocks) you can use a circular motion, but always end with a long stroke.)
