Lose Weight and Live Healthy For Life – The Easy Way

If you search just a little you will be amazed at all the products and diet books you will find that will help you lose weight. There are pills and drinks, detox diets, old secrets, Hoodoo and Voodoo and every other trick, tip and surefire way that is guaranteed to work or not.

Here’s the real deal.

BURN MORE CALORIES IN A DAY THAN YOU TAKE IN FOR THE DAY AND YOU WILL LOSE WEIGHT!

I personally believe, as do many health, nutrition and fitness experts, that this is the only way you will achieve any kind of success in your weight loss efforts. If done correctly, you will find this is a very easy way to lose weight and be healthy for life. Please consult your healthcare professional before starting a new diet or exercise program.

Here are a few tips I read that seem to make sense and work for me. Start your day by boosting your metabolism. I do this almost every day. You start by drinking 16 ounces of cold water to start your day. Now that may sound as crazy to you as it did to me but here’s the theory behind it. First, you’ve just woken up from seven or more hours of sleep and probably haven’t had any fluids for at least a few hours before you go to bed; remember, it is recommended that you consume 8-10 8 ounce glasses of water per day and that you do not drink for at least 8 hours. You need to start hydrating your body for the day and this is a good start

Second, the cold water cools your stomach which in turn tells your brain it’s cold and the brain will act and start warming it, this action will start your metabolism and as your body works to warm itself it will start burning calories. I personally like a little caffeine (coffee) in the morning, but you will see for yourself, as I did that cold water gives a better start than coffee.

There are, I believe, only two reasons why you become overweight and can’t seem to lose weight, diet and exercise. (Some people have illnesses or other medical conditions that prevent them from losing weight. Consult your doctor, especially before starting any new diet or exercise campaign.)

1. If at your workplace or in the course of your daily tasks, you feel that you are burning enough calories and do not need to start an exercise program then you may be consuming too many calories, by eating the wrong food or too much food!

2. If throughout the day you eat healthy food and don’t take in too many calories then it is very likely that you need to burn more calories.

Now is the time for you to be honest with yourself and admit to yourself which group you belong to. Some people are both. I personally eat healthy but I have a tendency to eat junk food from time to time, I overeat sometimes and I’m really close to couch potato status.

See how easy it is to be honest. You know what’s wrong with you like I know what’s wrong with me, the hard part is finally admitting it and doing something positive about it. It’s easy to procrastinate and do nothing, but you already know what that will lead to.

Now that you’ve read this far, chances are you’ve identified your problem and have the desire to do something about it. It will only be as hard as you make it. You can start by making gradual changes to your diet and fitness routine. You’ll be amazed that with just a little discipline on your part, you’ll start seeing results in just the first few weeks or days and that will push you to achieve even greater things.

Now it’s time to get to the heart of the matter; diet and exercise. Too many people have a tendency to overcomplicate this. They never identify what is causing them to be overweight and take in too much too quickly and stop before they really start. Here’s the secret; decide what you need to improve and start slowly so that your efforts will last.

With your diet, you need to be aware of what you eat, how much you eat and how often you eat it. Some find this a simple step but most fail here. You should keep a daily list or start a food journal or diary of what and how often you eat. So far we haven’t changed any of the foods we eat or adapted to any diet plan. We are only aware of our eating habits. If everything is good here then we can continue to exercise. If not, we need to make changes in the problem areas we identify.

If you need to adapt to a new diet than find a diet that will include things you like to eat as you will be more likely to stay the course. If you identify foods or habits that are bad for you, you need to make some changes there as well. You cannot succeed in this without taking control; no one can do it for you. Take it slow and try not to strain yourself.

Much of what we outline for our diet program is true for our exercise program. Keep a record or journal of the physical activities you do that burn calories throughout your day. Housework and daily chores count but are often not enough to burn all the calories consumed. If you find that you’ve burned enough calories and have made the right changes to your diet, then it’s time to say Hello to the new you. Or… maybe we need to increase physical activity in our day.

You don’t have to be hard on yourself here, but you do have to be pretty strict with yourself. Start slow and start looking for easy ways to increase your activity; Walking is probably the best place to start for most people. Park further away at the grocery store or work, but be careful in doing so, take the stairs if possible or walk in the morning or evening. Most people during their exercise routine take on too many responsibilities and activities too quickly and become their own worst enemy. They never gave themselves a chance to fight.

Maybe you think I’ve oversimplified things in this article but I don’t believe so. It is easy to succeed if you: Start slowly and know: What you eat, when you eat and how much you eat and
