Eating fewer calories has been, and will always be, the only effective way to lose weight and keep it off. The question is how do you eat less without going crazy, obsessing over food, counting calories, depriving yourself of the foods you love, and avoiding social gatherings and holiday parties.

But not all fasting programs are created equal. Religious fasting and true intermittent fasting programs are very strict and can interfere with your social life. I prefer a flexible style of intermittent fasting that you can fit into your current life, rather than overhauling your entire life just to lose a few pounds.
