What is your morning drink? Coffee, tea, water, juice, warm soup, kefir, or heaven – diet soda?
How important is the first thing we swallow in the morning?
What we take into our bodies in the morning, or whenever we wake up, sets the tone for the rest of the day. It is always important to break fast (breakfast) with something that will be nutritious and not shock the system. Our first drink helps create the body’s pH balance, otherwise known as acid-base balance (we want to be in a more alkaline state) but it also affects the microbial terrain, or flora, of the gastro-intestinal system. Both of these factors have a huge impact on our mental clarity, mood, immune system and current state of health.
More and more people have problems with an unbalanced ecology in the gastrointestinal tract. You might be too if you have any of the following (and more likely candida overgrowth – aka yeast overgrowth):

What we drink/eat first thing in the morning should be something alive. It should have the ability to coat and fill our gut with good bacteria, or good flora. It is these good bacteria that keep the overgrowth of other microbes – such as candida – in check.

-Yogurt – preferably plain
– Acidophilus tablets (Lactobacillus acidophilus, L. bifidus) with water

-Coconut water from young coconuts
-Coconut Kefir
Why alkalize? We want to create an alkaline environment in our bodies for several reasons. Being alkaline can prevent or help treat many degenerative conditions such as cancer, heart disease, arthritis, gallstones and gallstones. Cancer cannot survive in an alkaline environment. Many pathogenic organisms cannot exist in an alkaline environment. Acidic conditions lead to degenerative diseases, especially arthritis and kidney/gallstones.

Eat raw foods – fresh fruit, beans, sprouts, and vegetable juices. Cooked whole foods also work. Especially certain vegetables and grains. Once alkalized through food, then move the alkaline state throughout the body by:
-Exercise
-Massage
– Yoga
Activates the lymphatic system in the body (the circulatory system designed to cleanse the body of toxins) by using a mini trampoline also called a rebounder.
Give your digestive system a break once a week by juicing only organically grown fruits and vegetables. This helps neutralize the acidity.
How can we alkalize easily?
Drink an alkaline drink first thing in the morning. Some good drinks to alkalize your body are:
-Orange juice, and to further alkalize the lemon juice in it
-Water with lemon. If you want a hot drink, drink hot water with lemon.
-Certain teas. Kukicha Tea (Twig), Green Tea
-Vegetable gravy. Boil cabbage, carrot, onion together and drink the boiled water.

Measuring the pH of saliva gives us an opportunity to be vulnerable to degenerative diseases. Here’s how to test the pH of your saliva:
-Wait two hours after eating or drinking juice.
-Fill your mouth with saliva and swallow several times to make sure it is clean.
-Place clean saliva on the pH paper
-The pH paper should turn blue indicating that your saliva is slightly alkaline with a healthy pH of 7.4.
